Challenge
Write a 6,500-word sponsored supplement for Playback magazine profiling Alliance Atlantis Communications on the occasion of the company’s 10th anniversary. The supplement would consist of 12 separate articles, including profiles of top executives and each of the company’s business divisions. The copy was to be written in an objective, journalistic style, while also hitting on key copy points dictated by the client.
Solution
I worked with Playback to create a tentative story lineup. Next, I conducted sit-down and telephone interviews with senior AAC company officials, read through stacks of company literature and researched newspaper archives. Once I had completed the information gathering process, I wrote the articles and submitted them ahead of deadline. Playback and AAC were extremely pleased with the results.
